They turned us down....the putz heads!
I went for our hearing today with the county to see if we would qualify for the agricultural exemption....the dipsticks turned us down yet again. They sat for 10 minutes discussing why the neighbors on both sides and behind us get it so I thought we would be OK....Nope.
Stupid people bother me...

Are we seeing a pattern yet...
I was looking back at the page here and noticed that Benjamin seems to always be wearing the same shorts and shirt. Yes, I do wash them. Yes, he does have some other clothes but most show his midriff. This is his all time favorite outfit so instead of causing a scene and making getting ready a pain I let him wear his favorite outfit. It is clean when we start out but usually doesn't last very long.
So I went to Daingerfield to pick up William...
More than likely, if he had known how GROUCHY William was going to be he would have insisted we take our time a little more.

Going hog wild...
A rose by any other name is still a wet rose, at least here anyways...
My rose bushes only decide that they will bloom during rainy periods. This is one of my pink roses. Our dog, Sarah, likes to eat them off the bush so I have to enjoy them fast before they are snacked on.
Notice the June Bug underneath the rose...I didn't even see him when I was trying to take the picture.
Hitting the town
Benjamin and I hit the town taking in a small community park earlier this week. It was at least good for a laugh or two. Ben is so animated with his facial expressions. Oh, there was a goose with a pompadour there, he was too cute! Pics are below...
Benjamin thought this statue was pretty neat. He couldn't take his eyes off the little boy.
OK, brace yourself for these next two pictures. We thought this was hilarious...a goose with a pompadour! He carried it off very well too...strutted around and made these loud cooing noises at the lady geese.

Finally, a nice picture of Ben with the spray fountain in the background.

Anderson County Courthouse Project
Just running a little test post to see if my pics are showing up. Here's a few of the Anderson County Courthouse in Palestine, TX. I'm doing a project in Texas History over the courthouse's history. It's truly a beautiful work of art. It has mirrored spiral staircases that are made of ornate iron and marble, all from the area. There is a mural on the basement floor that you can see by looking over the stairwell. There is also a stained glass dome at the top of the stairwell.
The picture to the right is the front of the courthouse. There are four entrances, one to end side of the building. This helps ensure equal property value all around the courthouse square. This happens to be the side that the Historical Marker was on. It was built in 1914.
The pics above are of the spiraled staircases, they make a circle within the center of the courthouse.
Here is the mural. The pic is kinda dark, I guess I should have lightened it up a tad before I uploaded it.
The stained glass dome in the ceiling.
Now to the good stuff, BEN!!!
Here he's on the courthouse steps, of the 20 pics I took of him this is the only one where he was both smiling and looking at me!
"I BORED!"
This was Ben after we had been around, down, up, through, and then around the courthouse again in the Durango. Needless to say, he was ready to go!
Well....I'm going to go for it, blogging that is...
I guess that it's time for me to join the blogging community!
HI! I'm Missy, mom to two wonderful boys - Will and Ben.
I will try to keep everyone updated on the "activities" of the boys and maybe a picture or two for Mom!
